yes, many times i wanted to post in some threads, but then it hits me that it's a french forum....

what could be interesting to others is your sonotheque - for one, i plan to participate and browse it a little.... may i suggest you write a little translation on it's rules, on how to join & use it, and how to post recordings. if that's interesting to you, i could talk to geert, who is a moderator of gearslutz post-production section, and we could make this translation a sticky, so many other people will see it.....
just a suggestion thou, i still don't know how usable your sonotheque is (but i believe it's great, considering the level of professionalism i see in this forum!). also, there is a question if this would be good for your bandwidth.....

P.S. there is an old ongoing thread here about on-line sound databases. nobody mentioned the freesound project (http://freesound.iua.upf.edu/), so i wonder if you know about it. the concept is similar to your sonotheque, but most of the sounds i downloaded from there are not high-quality recordings (could be that i just wasn't lucky, and i picked all the worst ones....). i said this here, because in this thread i can speak english

This is an idea, but it will be useless untill the whole sonotheque scheme is monolingual, ie. only accepts infos written in french... The whole thing is databased based, so you can't just translate the pages as you see them...

Don't bother, we could easily do this internaly (some members of the crew are quasi-english-fluent), but the SDO's code is not quite ready yet. The Sonotheque is in a major rework/rethinking process, ATM. We didn't even think to include foreign langages in the Sonotheque...

Sounds in the Sonotheque are mostly great, but the user interface to search/play/download them is not so great... We're working on it...

We all know Freesound (i hope), it is just a reference in our sound editor's world, and BTW, it IS mentioned somewhere in our forums, and also in our Sonotheque's links:

They really have the best progamming object approach, and the best user interface for uploaders, IMHO as always... Big up to them!
