Oui leur appli n'est pas fantastique. C'est bien la même dont on parle.
C'est loin de l'application facebook, qui est pour moi une réussite.

Pour les backups je viens de passer à Mozy. Pour 54$ par ans, vous avez sauvegarde illimité pour une machine. Il y a un petit soft intégré à mac très bien foutu qui fait les backups (dans le style de
ibackup).

This build is another bugfix release (with some extra goodies). Remember, this build is experimental, approach with caution.
0.6.487
- Reverted to old Windows installer code, installer will be becoming more robust in future builds
- Tiny fixes.
0.6.481
- Another 20% improvement in startup time
- Some improvements in memory consumption, a huge decrease will be observed in some use cases.
- Problems with running on G3 Macs have been fixed (Thanks Dan C.)
- Lots and lots of invisible fixes / improvements.

For an error free install on Linux, first make sure Dropbox is stopped by choosing "Stop Dropbox" from the tray icon menu. Then run the following commands in your home directory:
$ rm -r .dropbox-dist/
$ tar xzf dropbox-lnx.x86-0.6.487.tar.gz # or x86_64
Then start Dropbox again from Nautilus.
Testé ! C'est beaucoup plus rapide.

J'ai trouvé une autre solution vraiment élégante, même si assez différente du concept de Dropbox ou autre solution de synchronisation, c'est ZumoDrive:

Très pratique quand on a un iPhone, et pour le partage de dossiers/fichiers. 1Go gratos.

De mon coté je me suis acheté un licence ChronoSync et j'ai monté un NAS Synology. J'ai eu le malheur de mettre un seagate d'un To dedans. Bruyant et mal reconnue par le Nas, je compte vite changer avec un Western Green 1to.
En tout cas j'utilise dropbox quotidiennement mais uniquement pour l'hébergement de fichier. Pour les backup online, c'est mozy.

- Workaround for buggy Mac OS X kernel that would cause missing of file events, related to hard links. (Thanks Frank R.!)
- New b&w tray icon for Mac OS X.
- Dropbox icon added for Linux notification system.
- More improvements on startup time.
- More minor stability enhancements.
- And of course 6 months of bug fixes/performance improvements/and other changes
