My name is Kamen Atanasov. I am a sound designer from Bulgaria. I found this wonderful forum, when I wrote my name in Google and saw my name in your news section on a new sound collection of Mount Hollywood. Let me introduce myself - I'm 34 years old and working as a sound designer for 13 years. I have designed more than 4,000 radio and television commercials, radio jingles ... several films, several computer games, songs, etc. But definitely my favorite part of the job is working on post-production for films.

Yes, thanks for stepping by Kamen, and thanks for the good words .
Maybe SDO should open an english area, we already discussed of that point with Danijel a few monthes back, but we are clearly a french language based website (this is the point, many english forums already exists, with way more visitors than us), with not so many moderators and admins... I'll see what i can do in a near future. And no, Google translator is clearly not an option IMHO.

I agree that this community should keep French as its main basic language. I don't mind speaking English with casual visitors and I'm sure most of us will be happy and able to communicate this way but I love the fact that SDO has all the way stayed French. As Dorian mentioned, there are tons of other English speaking websites/forums out there and I'm pretty sure you can find us all on those sites as well... Adding a translation plugin would just confuse and lead to misinterpretations in my opinion. Don't take me wrong, it's not only because I'm French that I read and post on SDO, most professional people here believe in a different form of art, cinematography and storytelling and try hard to keep a different aesthetic from overlooking industries like Hollywood. I think it's important that we grow and expand our art and culture beyond what other cultures do and SDO has been a great source of inspiration over the years for that. So there's already gearslutz, let's not make another one

In general, most of the projects I've worked on are outside of Bulgaria and Europe! But YES, I have designed a lot Radio and TV products here in Bulgaria. Over the past two years 60% of the advertising agencies and production houses in Bulgaria collapsed. Also, the production budgets are too low now! Оn the other hand now I am very tired of designing a tons of sound effects for Sound Ideas and The Hollywood Edge! For all these reasons, I'm looking for fresh projects in your forum!
